October 2026 Newsletter

The October 2026 Laguna Niguel Senior Citizens Club newsletter (Vol. 44, No. 9) finds Vice-President Marc Winer stepping in at the President’s Corner while President Yvonne Davis recovers from illness. Marc hints at new and exciting developments at the club office, encourages members to stop by and say hello, and echoes the ongoing call for volunteers—just 2 hours a week can make a difference. He reminds readers that Senior Resource Day is October 15 (no reservation needed), while Saturday Bingo on October 24 does require reservations so lunches can be planned. Wednesday Bingo games are nearly at capacity, and Marc looks ahead to the Christmas Party while wishing Yvonne a speedy return.

The Book Club section, led by co-chairs Linda Danto and Maureen Anapoell, celebrates a fantastic September 4th meeting where Pam Hilton led an animated discussion of The Art Thief—a true crime narrative about prolific art thief Stephane Breitwieser, who stole over 200 works across Europe driven not by profit but by love of art. The entire club rated it highly. The October 2nd meeting at 1pm will discuss The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. Meetings continue the first Friday of each month in the library.
