June 2026 Newsletter

The June/July 2026 Laguna Niguel Senior Citizens Club newsletter (Vol. 44, No. 6) opens with President Yvonne Davis in a nostalgic summer mood, invoking memories of graduations, weddings, and family vacations. She notes that while the Club Board is “Dark” for the summer, behind-the-scenes work continues — reorganizing the Sr. Club Office, migrating data from old computers, and training new office volunteers. She issues a warm call for Bingo Callers, Verifiers, and Sr. Desk volunteers, and encourages members to reach out and thank the newsletter’s advertisers for their continued support of the club’s mission.

Community activities and upcoming events fill the pages, from the Book Club’s enthusiastic May discussion of Kate Quinn’s The Briar Club to upcoming reads through August. The issue spotlights a free Party Bridge lesson series taught by Mr. Aaron Goldstien, open to beginners looking to sharpen memory and social connections. A full-page announcement promotes the Saturday Bingo & Lunch event on June 20th — open to members and guests over 18. Maureen Anapoell continues her popular “Did You Know” history series, this time tracing the surprising origins of self-service shopping, vending machines, and advertising. The issue also features a warm volunteer spotlight on Gerry Campbell, and the poem What is Yellow by Mary O’Neill.
